How to service the ignition coil-on-plug on Lincoln MKZ?

Service of the ignition coil-on-plug requires the first step to be disconnecting the battery ground cable. The quick connect coupling from the valve cover fitting should be removed from the crankcase vent tube on the left-hand side. The right-hand side of the servicing requires removal of the upper intake manifold to reach the ignition coil-on-plugs. Start by removing the upper intake manifold and next disconnect the six electrical connectors of ignition coil-on-plug. A twisting motion applied to ignition coil-on-plugs will help you break the seals for easier extraction. Unfasten each of the six bolts while removing the matching six ignition coil-on-plugs before installing them securely at 6 Nm (53 lb-in). The last step includes putting a tiny amount of dielectric grease inside each ignition coil-on-plug boot followed by attaching them to the spark plugs.
