How to service the knock sensor (KS) on Lincoln MKZ?

To maintain the knock sensor (KS) remove the thermostat housing, lower intake manifold, and coolant tube. Unscrew the KS electrical connector and screw the bolts out. Installation of the new KS requires tightening of the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) and lubricating the new O-ring seal with clean engine coolant.
