How to Service and Repair the Rear Sway Bar Link in the Suspension on Lincoln MKZ?

In order to fix the sway bar link, disassemble halfshafts (AWD) or spring (FWD) to the rear. Get rid of old nuts and bolts, use new ones that are tightened to the required torque. Check and remove sway bar bushings when required. When fitting fasteners make sure that the suspension is suspended correctly first, then undo it by removing the fasteners and fitting them back.

To fix the front sway bar link, take out the tire and wheel. Clamp the hex feature to ensure that the ball stud remains stationary when removing the upper nut and then ensure the new link is installed tightening it to 40 Nm. Repeat with the lower nut, tightened to 42 Nm, and the reversal of the removal process.
