Starting Idle Control Valve service and repair requires first you to remove the bolts and the accelerator splash shield. The service starts with disconnecting the Idle Control Valve (ICV) electrical connector followed by removing the ICV valve retaining bolts. The installation process starts with the backwards procedure and includes a new ICV gasket in the final steps. The bolts should be tightened in stages beginning with 10 Nm (89 lb-in) then taking the bolt through another 90-degree rotation.
