Vehicle position on hoist at neutral while draining engine cooling system stands as the first step for servicing or repairing the cooling module and its components. First recover refrigerant from the A/C system and then disconnect the
Battery Cable. First remove the front
Bumper cover together with both right-hand and left-hand headlamp assemblies. You should disconnect the two power steering fluid cooler hoses from their condenser core position while releasing two clamps so you can remove the cooling
Fan Shroud. Before placing the
Hood Latch assembly to the side remove two bolts which anchor the hood latch assembly in place. Afterward detach both cable position retainers. The pushpin should be extracted first to reveal the
Air Deflector which you can move aside before you can take out the two transmission cooler tube secondary latches. The transmission cooler line disconnect tool enables users to remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes from their corresponding hoses. Unfasten the condenser inlet fitting bolt and the outlet fitting nut and remove the two pieces by severing the existing O-ring seals. First disconnect the electrical connectors of the horn assembly and
Ambient Temperature Sensor before removing the six cooling module bolts to take out the cooling module from the car. Position the cooling module back into the vehicle then bolt it into place using six bolts that need to be tightened to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Connect the electrical wires to both the ambient temperature sensor and horn assembly. New O-ring seals should be used for connecting the
A/C Condenser outlet and inlet fittings. Install the nut and bolt before tightening them to 15 Nm which is equivalent to 133 lb-in. The transmission fluid cooler tubes should be reconnected and followed by installation of two secondary latches. First mount the deflector then attach the pushpin before installing the hood latch assembly by tightening its two bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) while also connecting the two cable position retainers. Install the cooling fan shroud and return steel power steering fluid cooler tubes to their proper connections on the condenser core then reinstall the front bumper cover along with the headlamp assemblies. Users should reconnect the battery ground cable following instructions for filling and bleeding the engine cooling system and the power steering system and transmission fluid addition then verify correct transmission operation afterwards they should perform an evacuation and leakage check and charging of the refrigerant system.
