In Lincoln Navigator vehicles, the A/C Condenser plays the role of a heat exchanger with its main duty being to cool the gaseous refrigerant so that it turns back into a liquid state hence moving to the accumulator. Usually located at the front of the radiator and consisting of a web of tubes that allows the cooling to occur. Although there is no indication of differences in types or styles of A/C Condenser in particulars concerning the various Navigator models, their basic function of converting refrigerants does not vary at all. Temperature control inside the cabin during the travel directly depends on the efficiency of the A/C Condenser.

Lincoln Navigator A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser Core on Lincoln Navigator?
    A:
Begin condenser core service and repairing operations by hoisting the vehicle while it is in neutral position. First recover the refrigerant before disconnecting the Battery Cables. The service process starts by taking off the upper radiator sight shield and both RH and LH headlamp assemblies together with the air cleaner outlet tube. First remove the four junction box bolts and place the junction box to the side. Detach the power steering cooler line clip before removing the condenser inlet fitting bolt to disconnect the fitting while discarding the O-ring and gasket seals and tightening the new fitting to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). You should follow identical installation steps for the condenser outlet fitting nut by discarding both components and tightening to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Detach the two cooling module and two cooling Fan Shroud bolts before releasing the clamps to disconnect the two power steering cooler lines which run through the condenser core. Users can remove the LH Air Deflector from the condenser bracket by taking out three pin-type retainers after which they should set the deflector to the side after removing the two RH outer air deflector pin-type retainers. Detach the RH air deflector from the condenser bracket by removing first its two pin-type retainers and next the nine lower radiator splash shield pin-type retainers to set the shield aside. Quickly detach the transmission cooler lines from the transmission cooler by removing the clamps then releasing the pin-type retainer attached to the condenser core bracket. After moving the cooling module toward the back you can raise the four condenser mounting brackets from their position on the cooling module which fully removes the condenser beneath the vehicle. Raise the condenser core together with the transmission cooler while compressing retaining tabs on the lower condenser brackets then unfasten the brackets connecting to the cooling module. You should position the top part of the condenser forward to release the top section of the condenser bracket from the cooling module before extracting both components. The installation process begins by performing the opposite steps of removal while using new gasket seals and O-ring seals. PAG oil lubricates the refrigerant system with its proper clean oil amount followed by power steering fluid and transmission fluid level filling before completing the evacuation, leak test, and refrigerant system charge.
