When servicing the wiper motor linkage, make sure that the windshield wipers are in the top position before removing them. Start by turning on the ignition and running the windshield wipers. Stop pivot arms by turning off the ignition switch when pivot arms are at their highest point. To remove the windshield wiper pivot arm, remove the pivot arm nut cover, remove the nut and remove the pivot arm. Then, lift up and hold the hood and take out the cowl grille seal (when the cowl is removed, the LH cowl grille should be removed first because there is overlapping). When removing the cowl (LH) grille, remove the screw cover, then remove the screws, clips and pin-type retainer. Do the same for the right-hand (RH) cowl grille. Once both grilles are removed, disconnect the electric connector and remove bolts to remove mounting arm/pivot shaft. Don't forget to adjust the pivot arms when installing, and perform the removal steps in reverse.
