Before beginning repairs of the rear brake rotor/disc always position the vehicle in neutral standing on a hoist system. Start the
Brake Caliper Parking Brake Cable service by first pulling back the parking brake lever and disconnecting the cable from this lever and lastly by removing the cable conduit retaining clip. The brake caliper should never be suspended by the brake hose during maintenance because damage can occur. The brake caliper assembly consisting of brake caliper anchor plate bolts and brake caliper should be set aside for storage with mechanic's wire maintenance. Then detach the two brake disc screws followed by the brake disc removal. The brake disc-to-hub mounting surface needs to be rust-free from foreign material before applying anti-seize lubricant. Secure the new brake disc by using two brake disc screws which need to be tightened to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs. force). Safely reposition the brake caliper assembly with
Brake Pads as well as brake anchor plate and bolt in place while tightening bolts to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.). Connect the parking brake cable to the brake caliper before stretching the parking brake lever to pull it back. Then attach the cable to the parking brake lever and install its cable conduit retaining clip. A proper functionality test and verification of normal operation should be performed by cycling the parking brake multiple times.
