How to service and repair the cruise control switch on Lincoln Zephyr?

Service and repair of the cruise control switch requires initial removal of the speed control switch with a pull towards the back of the vehicle thus protecting the steering wheel switch electrical connector from returning to its position. Remove the electrical connector before proceeding with the work. The installation of the new switch requires a reverse order of the removal steps. The replacement operation for the driver air bag module does not require any module removal.
