How to service the knock sensor (KS) on Lincoln Zephyr?

The first step for servicing the knock sensor (KS) includes placing the vehicle on a hoist with NEUTRAL engaged. The service process begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable followed by removing the 7 underbody cover securing screws if needed. The KS service begins by disconnecting its electrical connector followed by removing the securing bolt. The new sensor needs to be tightened to 20Nm (15lb-ft) torque before following the safety procedures in reverse to finish installation.
