How to service the radiator on Mercury Grand Marquis?

All servicing operations on the radiator must start with disabling the fire suppression system when present. You must start by removing the cooling fan motor and shroud assembly after which you remove the pin-type retainers in order to dissemble the radiator sight shield. Disconnect the lower radiator hose for service before placing it beside the work area. As the next step remove the two bolts which secure the radiator support brackets yet tighten them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) before reinstalling. To remove the radiator start by taking out the necessary bolt and then set the A/C condenser and power steering cooler to the side before you take out the radiator while maintaining 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) torque on reinstallation. Reusing hose clamps is forbidden; you should install worm-style clamps which match the sizes instead of retaining constant tension clamps. The cooling system requires filling and bleeding after completion followed by reponse of the fire suppression system if it was depowered.
