Relieving pressure from the fuel system is vital at the beginning because fuel would otherwise spray accidentally due to maintained high pressure during engine shutdown. Service of the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable and proceeding to separate the electrical connector and vacuum tube from the sensor. Twist off the two bolts that fasten the sensor into place. Tighten the new sensor to 5 Nm and examine the O-ring for damage but replace it if needed.
