Before servicing the selector lever cable you must place the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. Proceed by setting the floor shift selector lever in position (D) and you can pry the upper shift lever trim ring up to remove it before extracting the top finish panel. The objective involves disconnecting the selector lever cable from the gearshift assembly while taking off the cable end from the gearshift lever and untethering it from its bracket. First secure the two nuts on the selector lever cable by tightening them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) before installation. To reach the shift cable bracket reverse the motion of the Z-bracket bolt while turning it counter-clockwise before tightening it to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.) upon reinstalling everything. Remove the selector lever cable by detaching its end from the manual lever while also taking the cable off the selector lever cable bracket. The completion of installation requires following the removal steps in reverse order while keeping the thick tab oriented to the driver side front of the shifter when installing the upper shift lever trim ring before pressing it into position. Adjust the selector lever cable as the final step of installation.
