The service procedure for Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable and draining the cooling system. Following the disconnect of electrical power to the ECT sensor professionals should separately remove its small clip and sensor. First remove the sensor along with the clip then disconnect the electrical connector and drain the cooling system. The installation concludes by performing the removal steps in reverse order.
