How to service and repair the parking brake cable on Mercury Mystique?

In order to fix the parking brake cable, disengage the brake, loosen the nuts on the bike wheel rear, and lift up the vehicle. Take off the parking brake control, remove the wheel, and prop the muffler. Un-screw rear brake cables (and, with disc brakes), the cable of the lever. In the case of drum brakes, take off shoes and cable. Uninstall by using the reverse process.
