How to service and repair the throttle cable and linkage on Mercury Mystique?

The throttle assembly service requires starting the process by disconnecting the accelerator from the throttle body. Remove the clip from the accelerator bracket after which remove the accelerator cable assembly. Detach the accelerator cable from its position at the throttle linkage and then remove it from the spark plug cover. Detach the accelerator cable from the pedal before releasing the cable housing from the bulkhead to take out the cable assembly. Assembling the cable becomes simpler with proper addition of a feed line attached to the cable. The installation process should be done by reversing all steps from removal.
