First service the lower control arm by taking the lip of the fender distance measurement to the center of the hub with the vehicle level and in static position. The knuckle-to-lower arm bolt needs removal followed by bolt discard then tightening it to 160 Nm (118 ft. lbs.) when installing 2WD or to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) when installing models with AWD. When you install the shock absorber assembly with spring and lower arm bolt treat it to torque of 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) for 2WD and 142 Nm (105 ft. lbs.) for AWD systems. Wear new bolts to fasten the lower arm-to-subframe link because installation torque needs to be 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.) for 2WD and 133 Nm (98 ft. lbs.) for AWD. The technician needs to use a jack stand to elevate the rear suspension until the measured distance matches the original measurement between the hub center and fender lip before installing new suspension fasteners and tightening lower arm bolts. After completing the reinstallment check the rear toe settings if needed.
