    Q:
How to service and repair the rear Motor And Transmission Mount on Mercury Milan? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the transaxle rear support insulator service and repair operation by securing the vehicle on a hoist system when the transmission is set to neutral position. Reinstall the splash shield after removing both its bolts and the shield while securing the bolts at 47 Nm (35 lb-ft). Follow by uninstalling both lower transaxle rear support insulator bolts and reinstalling them with 63 Nm (46 lb-ft) torque. Remove the battery along with the battery tray through the positive cable retainer disconnect before taking off the battery tray bolts. Reinstall the bolts with a torque setting of 80 lb-in. The Power Distribution Box (PDB) can be set aside through disconnection of the PDB bolts followed by the lower nut and a subsequent upward pull that releases the pushpin and disconnects the two electrical connectors. A suitable floor jack should support the transaxle while you uninstall the two transaxle rear support insulator-to-frame bolts and the two nuts and the transaxle rear support insulator-to-transaxle bolt. Reinstall each mount stud with new components which should extend fully into the case before tightening them to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft). Begin by taking off the clutch hydraulic tube spring clip then apply downward pressure to the clutch tube so it unlocks from its bracket before proceeding to eliminate the clutch hydraulic tube plastic retainer and transaxle mount. The process ends by performing the opposite steps of removal.
