Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the frame crossmember and pry up. The transmission should not move significantly away from the mount; if it does, the mount should be replaced. To replace the mount, remove the two nuts securing it to the frame crossmember and the two bolts securing it to the transmission extension housing. Place a jack under the transmission with a piece of wood on top to protect the transmission case. Apply a slight amount of jack pressure and raise the transmission, then remove the mount and install a new one. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
