Window Motor, Rear Driver Side

The initialization process for the LF door power window motor requires clear window pathways and properly installed windshield glass and window regulator and window motor in addition to glass top run which should be securely tightened according to specifications. Initiation of motor power must be performed after removal or replacement or any application of lubricants. Access both the OFF position for the ignition key and the open position for the LF door first. Set the ignition key to ON position and activate the front power window control switch (LF) to AUTO position six times. After turning the ignition key to OFF position maintain the LF door open then use the front power window control switch (LF) to set the AUTO position six times. The window glass completes two to three millimeter (0.1 in) downward and upward motions after closing the LF door while in ON position to indicate initialization mode activation. After opening the LF door press and keep the front power window control switch (LF) moved to UP until the glass stops at the upper seat position. Briefly activate the DOWN switch position which will enable the window to complete a single automatic descent operation with the travel stop at the lowest position. Press and keep holding the UP position of the switch until the window glass stops at the upper header seal to complete initialization successfully. Test both one-touch DOWN and UP window movements together with proportional DOWN and UP sequences to guarantee proper functioning of the LF window. Perform the initialization process again with care when the window fails to operate correctly.

Proceeding to service the front door window regulator and motor requires positioning the front door window glass to its midpoint open position. Service the front door speaker while removing both inside glass weather strip and watershield. Remove the clip from the lock rod at the handle assembly before placing the rod to the side. The glass assembly in some vehicles is fixed to the regulator by means of rivets requiring removal of bolts that secure the glass. Before disconnecting the electrical connector maintain the window at maximum height so the window glass stays in position. After disconnection of the regulator and motor assembly from the door frame users must extract it through the door opening. Installation must begin with placing the lock knob in its full unlocked position followed by reversing the removal steps when putting in the actuating rod.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the door and connect the window control switch.

All LF window components, including window glass, window regulator, window motor, and glass top run.

The LF window motor will remain uninitialized, allowing only proportional up/down functions.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the window regulator motor.

Raise the front door window glass to the full up position and remove the front door trim panel.
