Start by taking out the differential housing cover followed by the removal of the rear brake disc. The process begins by taking out the differential pinion shaft through the step of discarding the lock bolt followed by extracting the shaft itself. The removal process of U-washer requires pushing the axle shaft in to protect rubber O-rings along the axle shaft grooves. Protective measures should be taken because breaking the axle shaft oil seal can happen during axle shaft extraction. Apply grease to the oil seal lip of the axle shaft before you put in both the axle shaft and U-washer by positioning the U-washer on the button side of the axle shaft and extending the shaft outward. The original lock bolt should receive threadlock application on its threads because a replacement differential pinion shaft lock bolt is unavailable until the installation of the differential pinion shaft and the bolt hole alignment with the differential case lock bolt hole using a new lock bolt tightened to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). Reinstall both the brake disc and the differential housing cover as the final step in the installation process.
