- Q:How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on 2006 Ford Explorer?A:To service the suction accumulator, recover refrigerant. Remove PCM, low-side service port bracket bolt, disconnect A/C cycling connector, then remove accumulator bolt and stud. For 4.6L remove accumulator-to-compressor bracket nut, remove fitting nuts and discard O-rings. Reverse procedure, fit new O-rings, lubricate with PAG oil, evacuate, leak test and charge.
