How to service and repair the left-hand side exhaust manifold on 2000 Lincoln LS?

The first step to service and repair the left-hand side exhaust manifold is removing the heat shield when it exists. Move to the next step which includes eliminating the three upper nuts from the left-hand exhaust manifold before removing the Three-Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) and the lower splash shield by detaching the bolts and pin-type retainers. Separate the secondary air tube from its connection point on the exhaust manifold only if it exists. You should take out the exhaust manifold after removing its three bottom nuts then dispose of the gasket. The installation requires a brand new gasket while the exhaust manifold needs to be slid into position and bolted properly to reach 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) torque in two separate sequences for complete sealing. Next attach the secondary air tube if necessary to the exhaust manifold before installing the lower splash shield while using shield and pin-type retainers and bolts for attachment. Finish by reinserting the TWC together with the heat shield whenever it was taken off.
