How to service and repair the evaporator core on 2000 Mercury Cougar?

To service the evaporator core, disassemble the heater/ evaporator housing followed by the blower motor/ evaporator housing. Disassemble the hose to the vacuum and take out the evaporator. To install, do it in reverse, test the air conditioning system, and install new O-rings with refrigerant oil on them, with gaskets in place.
