The service begins with fuel line clip removal along with pin-type wire harness retainers followed by alternator wire harness clip removal. Place a shop cloth on the upper intake manifold while positioning the spark plug wires aside by raising the separators. Remove the upper intake manifold through bolt and stud bolt removal before removing the cover. The first step involves disconnecting accelerator and speed control cables while also removing the throttle return spring and then setting the bracket aside after unstaling its bolt and stud bolt. Remove the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector then unplug the evaporative emissions return tube together with the brake booster vacuum hose while disconnecting the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) vacuum regulator solenoid electrical and vacuum connectors and the vacuum hose and finally disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose.
