Start boot service and repair of the rear parking brake cable and conduit by pulling down from the bottom edge to separate from the plastic retainer and then continue the repair steps. A pull on the control handle should be performed if necessary. Handle the control boot with caution because its small plastic retaining tab easily breaks when fitting against control handle notches thus needing new boot replacement. The retainer tab needs a screwdriver tool to be lifted carefully while sliding the boot upward. Position a screwdriver to press down the tension arm until its position is locked in place with a pin or screwdriver. Lift the vehicle while removing the cable anchor pin.
