Before repairing or servicing front parking brake cables and conduits start by removing the boot bottom from the plastic retainer. In case of need, raise the control handle. Your task requires concentrated handling due to the small plastic tab which locks the control boot to its notch on the control handle; if you fail to handle it properly the tab might get damaged thus requiring new boot installation. A tiny screwdriver enables gentle lifting of the retainer when moving the boot upwards. The tension arm requires depressioN with a screwdriver until it reaches full depression while securing it using a pin or screwdriver. Start by removing the cable anchor pin and lifting the vehicle to a supported position and keep it raised. Lower the vehicle after disconnecting the parking brake cables at the rear. First pop out the floor grommet for the front cable and remove the cable before returning to the installation process to install the new cable.
