How to Service the Idle Control Valve on 2001 Lincoln LS?

The first service step for the Idle Control Valve includes disconnecting both the battery ground cable followed by removing the electrical connector from the Idle Control Valve. Uninstall the Idle Control Valve from the vehicle by removing its bolts before lifting it upward out of the vehicle while discarding the old gasket. Wash both gasket mating surfaces thoroughly while avoiding the use of Carburetor Tune-up Cleaner D9AZ-19579-BA since it matches Ford specifications ESR-M14P9-A, and all other cleaning solvents will damage internal valve components. Cleaning of engine control sensor wiring is impossible thus replacement of new wires becomes necessary. The reverse order of removal should be followed when installing the part while using a new gasket.
