How to service the ambient temperature sensor for the HVAC system on 2003 Ford Excursion?

In order to service the HVAC ambient temperature sensor, you must remove the eight pin-type retainers of the upper radiator sight shield, the two upper retainers of the air deflector. Unscrew the retainer of sensor, break the electrical connector and take off the sensor. Installation is reversed.
