Before lifting or towing operations begin you should turn off the air suspension switch which exists in the LH quarter trim panel to avoid unexpected changes in air spring pressure. Disassemble the wheel and tire and discard the nuts that you have removed. First disconnect the electrical connector and proceed to compress the quick connect lock ring and simultaneously pull on the air supply line. Take away the bolt together with the flag nut before extracting the air shock absorber. The hex holding feature should be used to stop the shock rod from rotating during the removal and discard of the nut. The vehicle needs a new air spring when retainer tabs become damaged. Index the air spring and shock absorber before bending down the retainer tabs to remove the air spring. Throw out the O-ring seal together with the washer and jounce bumper in addition to the O-ring seals. Discard the retainer pins with the upper mount and remove O-ring seals that remain on the vehicle. A proper press tool must be used for mounting upper mount retainer pins because hammers should be avoided to protect the parts.
