How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on 2005 Ford Escape?

Service and repair operations on the compressor manifold and tube assembly must begin with placing the vehicle on a hoist in NEUTRAL position while recovering A/C refrigerant. Unfasten the two nuts which hold the compressor manifold and tube assembly bracket before tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) when reinstalling them. Starting from the suction accumulator disconnect the spring lock coupling then proceed to remove the front bumper cover. The condenser core peanut fitting requires its nut to be removed for disconnecting purposes while the reinstallation will require tightness of 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Remove the right-hand splash shield and also detach the engine block heater when present. The procedure begins by disconnecting the electrical connection of the A/C compressor before removing the securing bolt that holds the manifold and tube assembly together. The tightness of bolt reinstalls must reach 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) when reassembling. You must carefully detach the A/C compressor manifold combined with tube assembly then throw away the O-rings.
