2005 Ford Excursion A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Hose for the Auxiliary Evaporator Outlet and Inlet Line on 2005 Ford Excursion?
A: The refrigerant recovery procedure should be the first step for servicing auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet line. You must first remove both the right-hand fender splash shield while also taking off the right-hand rear wheel. The service process should start by detaching the evaporator line spring lock coupling(s) from the rear of the vehicle while discarding both O-ring seals when removing just one auxiliary evaporator line. Remove the five line bracket retaining nuts while drawing the bracket away from the stud before using tools to separate it from the lines. Disconnect the auxiliary evaporator line fitting(s) from their ports before discarding the O-ring seals while removing the auxiliary evaporator line(s). The rear auxiliary evaporator inlet line fitting(s) should be connected first followed by placing the rear auxiliary evaporator line(s) in the line bracket. Place front auxiliary evaporator lines through the wheel well before installing and connecting them properly. Afterward, attach the rear auxiliary evaporator inlet line onto its brackets. Fasten the bracket over the studs before installing the nuts loosely. Use wrenches on each fitting side to prevent damage during the two auxiliary evaporator inlet line connection process but avoid the nut becoming too tight because this could break the floor pan stud away from its mounting points. Install the right-hand rear wheel together with the right-hand fender splash shield before you tighten the five bracket nuts. Apply the right amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system before performing evacuation and leak detection and thencharging the A/C system.
