2005 Ford F-150 Brake Disc Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the front brake disc on 2005 Ford F-150?
A: A safe method to service the front brake rotor begins with supporting the brake caliper assembly along with the anchor plate while detaching it from the flexible hose. Two caliper anchor plate bolts must be discarded before placing the assembly to one side. First remove the cotter pin from the spindle nut retainer before you proceed to take out the retainer itself and the nut. Properly extract the front brake disc while maintaining it on the spindle. During installation position the new brake disc onto the spindle while you should apply 400 Nm (295 ft.lbs.) torque to the spindle nut but do it with five anti-clockwise rotations before checking the torque once more. Return the brake caliper and anchor plate to their original position while using two new bolts which need to be tightened to a torque of 200 Nm (148 ft.lbs.).
