2005 Ford F-150 Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Disc on 2005 Ford F-150?
A: The first step for servicing and repairing the rear brake rotor/disc requires the brake caliper to receive support through a suitable tool which prevents the flexible hose from hanging. Use a suitable tool to suspend the brake caliper before removing the two bolts. Place it aside after removal. Unbinding of the brake disc from the parking brake shoe and lining requires removal of the adjustment plug to permit condensing the parking brake shoe before disc removal. First clean away all rust and debris from the brake disc as well as wheel hub using brake parts cleaner. Use proper caution during application to prevent lubricant exposure of wheel studs or brake pads or brake disc when you apply a thin lubricant layer onto the hub flange. Place the brake disc onto the wheel hub afterwards set the brake caliper into position before fastening its two bolts to a torque of 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
