2006 Ford F-150 Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the front brake disc on 2006 Ford F-150?
A: The process of servicing front brake rotor/disc should start with wheel and tire removal while using proper methods to prevent brake hose damage from caliper and anchor plate assembly suspension. Begin by removing the two brake caliper anchor plate bolts before setting the caliper along with the anchor plate assembly aside with mechanic's wire. The first step is removing the cotter pin on the spindle nut retainer before taking off both the retainer and the nut while discarding the spindle nut for replacement. Detach the front brake disc that sits on the spindle. After properly positioning the brake disc onto the wheel spindle users should torque the new spindle nut to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). A counterclockwise five rotation pattern must be performed before performing a torque recheck. Use new components for a spindle nut retainer andcotter pin before installation. Secure the brake caliper while using two new bolts that receive torque of 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) while restoring the wheel and tire.
