How to service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2005 Ford F-150?

The first service step for Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor requires disconnecting the battery ground cable. After releasing the clamp users should detach the air cleaner cover from its tray before lifting the air cleaner tray from its grommets to extract it. First disconnect both MAF sensor electrical wires and then sever the electrical connector retainer. Sliding the grommet down the wiring harness allows complete removal of the air cleaner inner cover together with the MAF sensor. Remove both the air cleaner inner cover and MAF sensor from the air cleaner cover by pulling them out together using a proper method to disconnect the MAF sensor jumper wire. Use a screwdriver to take off the bolts fastening the MAF sensor unit. During installation tighten each bolt to 10 Nm which is equivalent to 89 lb-in.
