2005 Ford Mustang Thermostat Housing Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the thermostat housing on 2005 Ford Mustang?
A: The service of thermostat housing begins with draining the cooling system contents. The next operation requires users to remove both the air cleaner outlet pipe and the throttle body. The service of the thermostat housing requires disconnecting the engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector followed by removing the upper radiator hose together with the heater inlet hose and bypass hose from the thermostat housing. Set these hoses aside during the work. After removing the three bolts securing the thermostat housing at its lower end you should detach the housing while making sure to apply 12 Nm torque when installing the new housing. The cooling system should be filled and bled during the inversion of the removal process to install the new housing.
