There must be extreme caution used to avoid damaging both temperature sensing bulb and capillary tube when untethering the temperature sensing bulb from the evaporator outlet tube. The A/C insulating tape needs removal for future reuse along with a clip removal for temperature sensing bulb detachment. You must first disconnect the refrigerant lines by gripping the fittings from both sides using a wrench to minimize A/C fitting damage before removing the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) while discarding the O-ring seals. The installation process requires performing the opposite steps of removal while installing fresh O-ring seals.
