2006 Ford F-150 A/C Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on 2006 Ford F-150?
A: The refrigerant recovery process must begin before starting the compressor manifold and tube assembly repairs. The service of this assembly starts with air cleaner outlet tube removal and proceeds with loosening compressor manifold bolt to detach manifold from A/C compressor so you can discard existing O-ring seals. Reinstallation of the manifold should be done with proper torque to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft). Separate the suction accumulator outlet fitting nut before you detach the fitting and throw away its O-ring seal while torquing the fitting to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). First disconnect the pressure cutoff switch electrical connector and then remove the compressor manifold and tube bracket nut. When reinstalling, disconnect the condenser inlet fitting by discarding the O-ring seal and then tighten it to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). The procedure to reverse compressor manifold and tube assembly removal includes new O-ring seal installation alongside correct PAG oil application for the refrigerant system. The refrigerant system requires evacuation followed by leak detection then the addition of refrigerant.
