2005 Ford F-150 A/C Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on 2005 Ford F-150?
A: Refrigerant recovery should be the first step before starting repairs or servicing the compressor manifold and tube assembly. Workers should remove the air cleaner outlet tube before separating the compressor manifold from the A/C compressor by loosening the compressor manifold bolt to remove the manifold while discarding its O-ring seals. The replacement procedure requires a 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) torque when tightening the manifold. The technician should remove the suction accumulator outlet fitting nut and disconnect it by dumping the O-ring seal and tightening the fitting to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) when reinstalling. Start the process by disconnecting the pressure cutoff switch electrical connector followed by removing the compressor manifold and tube bracket nut. The condenser inlet fitting should be disconnected while discarding its O-ring seal before reinstallation tighten it to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft). The installation process starts by following contraction sequence in reverse direction while using new O-ring seals and adding the correct amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. Evacuation and leak testing of the refrigerant system should complete the procedure before recharging the system with refrigerant.
