2007 Ford F-150 Brake Disc Parts Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Brake Disc on 2007 Ford F-150?
A: The rear brake rotor/disc removal process starts with setting the caliper assembly aside to prevent damage to the brake hose when it is not attached to the brake caliper bolts. You will need mechanic's wire to support the caliper assembly after removing its two guide pin bolts. Disassemble the brake disc only after removing the adjustment plug because this action loosens the parking brake shoe and lining when brake disc binding occurs. Brake parts cleaner should be used to clean rust along with foreign substances from both brake disc and wheel hub before installation. Apply a minimal coating of lubricant material on the hub flange but prevent it from touching either wheel studs, brake pads, or brake disc. Secure the brake disc onto the wheel hub. After that, put back the brake caliper assembly and screw in the guide pin bolts to a torque of 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
