How to Service and Repair the Hood Cable on 2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

Before working on the hood cable, service personnel must disconnect the battery. To reach the hood cable guide you must first take off the hood latch and the two pin-type retainers followed by putting the air deflector to the side. Service the hood cable by removing the four hood latch guides and powertrain control module and A-pillar lower trim panel. The three parking brake control nuts need removal before installation but should be tightened to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Put the parking brake control to the side before eliminating the E-clip from the return spring and then setting the hood latch release handle to the side. The hood cable requires detaching from its handle before extracting the cable along with the dash panel grommet using the front vehicle entrance. The installation should end by performing a reversal of all removal steps.
