2006 Ford Mustang Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the radiator on 2006 Ford Mustang?
A: Service of the radiator starts with draining the cooling system fluids. Start the radiator service by deleting the lower radiator air deflector. Afterward remove its four pushpin retainers and air deflector. You must remove first both the cooling fan motor and then separate the shroud unit. The service requires removal of the degas bottle-to-radiator hose followed by the upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose. All three components should be placed to the side. Put the radiator support brackets on while tightening their bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) before reinstalling. Take out both power steering tubes and A/C condenser retaining nuts and place the power steering tubes by the side before retightening them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) when reinstalling. Install the two A/C condenser bolts with 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) tightness prior to reinstalling them. Before setting aside this component disconnect the two transmission cooler bolts and reinstate them at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). You should remove the radiator first before ending the procedure by following the earlier removal sequence and filling the cooling system while bleeding it.
