Service of the left-hand exhaust manifold begins by placing the vehicle on a hoist with neutral gear position and disconnecting the battery ground cable. Every connected component should be removed including the exhaust flange nuts, the combination of nut and oil level indicator and tube assembly as well as the nut that holds the upper intake manifold support brace. The sequence requires removal of bolts and stud bolts and exhaust manifold alongside the gasket with discarding of all three components. Inspect the exhaust manifold for any shape distortion before any installation procedure. Use new exhaust manifold gasket together with bolts and stud bolts while performing two-stage bolt tightening starting at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) then ending at 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Before the installation of upper intake manifold support brace and nut you must clean the end of the oil level indicator tube with metal surface prep then apply silicone gasket and sealant. The oil level indicator tube assembly requires installation along with its bracket nut which needs to be secured at 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). The last step involves fastening the exhaust flange nuts before restoring power to the battery ground cable.
