Inspection for warpage of the exhaust manifold must happen before starting the installation process. Apply new components including exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust manifold and bolts, and stud bolts and use a two-stage method of tightening them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) first followed by 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). The last step includes reinstalling the exhaust flange nuts.
