2006 Ford Ranger Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the windshield wiper motor on 2006 Ford Ranger?
A: Before servicing the windshield wiper motor users must move the wiper blades to the UP position while also disconnecting the ground cable from the battery. Windshield wiper motor replacement requires installation of a brand-new motor because this piece is not serviceable. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor and afterwards remove the RH access cover through screw removal. After entering the opening you need to free the wiper motor clip from its attachment to both the right-hand mounting arm and pivot shaft. Dismantle the connection between the RH windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft of the motor while simultaneously separating both components from the LH windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft. You should remove the windshield wiper motor by removing its stud and bolts then tightening these bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) during installation. Make sure that when installing the mounting arm along with pivot shaft retainer clip fully engages the motor crank pin to prevent any harm. Begin installing the LH mounting arm along with its pivot shaft onto the motor while following the reverse process of removal.
