2007 Ford Ranger Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the windshield wiper motor on 2007 Ford Ranger?
A: Service of the windshield wiper motor begins with positioning the wiper blades straight UP then disconnecting the battery ground cable. A malfunctioning or deteriorated windshield wiper motor demands replacement because it cannot receive any repair work. The next step includes disconnecting the wiper motor electrical connector and setting the powertrain control module (PCM) connector and harness to the side. The service procedure starts by loosening the bolt and as you remove the nut and the stud the PCM electrical connector needs disconnecting while setting the harness aside. Take out screws and remove both RH access cover and its housing. You must access the wiper motor clip by reaching through the RH access cover opening so you can detach it from the RH mounting arm and pivot shaft. Move both windshield wiper mounting arms and pivot shafts away from the wiper motor by disconnecting the LH component from the RH component. The procedure for removing the wiper motor involves taking out its stud and bolts but tightening the parts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) during installation. Safety demands a secure installation of the retainer clip on the motor crank pin before securing the mounting arm and pivot shaft. The LH mounting arm and pivot shaft installation should occur before the RH mounting arm and pivot shaft and follows the removal procedure in reverse order for installation.
