2006 Ford Taurus Cruise Control Servo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the cruise control servo on 2006 Ford Taurus?
A: Service and repair of the cruise control servo starts with disconnecting the speed control actuator electrical connector through a tab pressing followed by connector separation. You can disconnect the speed control cable cap through two steps. First press the retaining tab which allows you to rotate the cap counterclockwise until it separates from the actuator housing. Using the spring retainer press to disconnect the speed control cable until the core wire end slides out of the speed control actuator pulley. Takedown the speed control actuator retaining nuts but remember to fasten them to 20 Nm when reinstalling. After detaching the speed control actuator bracket you should reinstall it by tightening it to 11 Nm (97 lb-in). The reinstallation should follow the opposite steps of removal to finish the installation process.
