A new receiver/drier needs installation for the air conditioning system repair only when either a failed A/C compressor has contaminated the system or damage occurred to the receiver/drier. Start by taking off the auxiliary climate control housing and then disconnect the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) fittings before removing the TXV as you discard the O-ring seals.
