How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose for the Evaporator Inlet Line and Orifice Tube on 2006 Mercury Mariner?

Your service or repair of the evaporator inlet line and orifice tube requires refrigerant recovery as the first step. The service engineer needs to loosen the nut while removing the evaporator inlet line tube-O fitting along with the discard of its old O-ring seal. During installation tighten the fitting to 24 Nm which is equivalent to 18 lb-ft. The first step tasks to disconnect the evaporator inlet spring lock coupling before you can remove the orifice tube evaporator inlet line. Reverse the removal procedure to reinstall the components by using new O-ring seals along with appropriate clean PAG oil for lubricating the refrigerant system. The process ends with evacuating the refrigerant system and conducting leak tests followed by necessary refrigerant system charging. A new suction accumulator needs replacement only when evidence indicates contamination from a failed A/C compressor or suction accumulator damage occurs. Inside the tube-O fitting side of the orifice tube evaporator inlet line you will find the evaporator core orifice.
