How to Service and Repair the Lower Front Motor and Transmission Mount on 2006 Mercury Mariner?

Start the procedure for transaxle support insulator - lower, front service and repair by mounting the vehicle safely on a hoist with neutral transmission gear. Disassemble the left-hand splash shield by removing seven retainers then proceed with removing four cross brace securing bolts. The service starts by unfastening first the brace bolt and then the two bolts securing the brace. Remove finally the nut connecting the mount and the brace. Remove the mount after you detach two screws from the structure. The installation process starts with attaching the new mount to the brace then securing it with bolts that should be tightened to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Place the brace properly and fasten the nut while tightening it to 150 Nm torque. Begin by affixing the two brace bolts using 90 Nm torque measurement (66 ft. lbs.) and after that tighten the mount bolt to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs). The left-hand splash shield installation requires seven retainers which must be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) after fitting the four cross brace bolts to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
