How to Service and Repair the Front Motor and Transmission Mount for the 2.3L Engine on Mercury Mariner?

The first step for servicing or repairing the transaxle support insulator at the lower rear part for 2.3L engine required hoisting the vehicle in neutral position. Service the transaxle through a three-step process starting with disconnecting both the breather tube and MAF sensor followed by intake tube and air cleaner cover until reaching the air cleaner assembly. The next step requires removing the mount through bolt and tightening it to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.) before reinstallation. The I retaining bolt and the two nuts need to be removed before you can take out the mount from its location. When reinstalling the mount use 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) of torque. To finish the installation you should execute the reversal of all removal steps.
