How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Mercury Mountaineer?

A technician should start servicing the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor once they position the vehicle in neutral gear on a hoist. First disconnect the battery ground cable and the electrical connector of the CKP sensor. First loosen the bolt connecting the sensor then extract both the sensor and bolt from its position. The sensor bolt installation requires a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and proper routing of sensor wires must keep them separate from the battery cable. By reversing the removal process the installation will be finished.
